Water Goblin

In Slavic mythology Vodnik or Vodyanoy - Water Goblin, is said to appear as a naked old man with a frog-like face, greenish beard, and long hair, with his body covered in algae and muck, usually covered in black fish scales. What inspired Dvořák to write The Water Goblin in 1896? A poem by Karel Jaromír Erben, it tells a story of a Vodnik/Water Goblin who traps drowning souls in upturned teacups. And this creature appears also in Witcher stories, he is quite hate this water monsters!
